General Rules

Gate Policy
1) MDRA Platinum Members, ID Document must be presented together with the
Membership
2) All bags, purses, backpacks and items brought through the gate will be subject to
inspection

Kids Restrictions
1) Kids are not allowed with, Electric scooters, Bikes ,4 wheelers

Music Policy
1) Music is allowed after the Event, but only until 23:30 hrs

Paddock – Pit Areas
1)Trailers are permitted in the paddock but without a lorry.
2) Open fires are not allowed. Please contain all cooking fires to grills, smokers or bar-b-cue
pits. Open fires will not be tolerated at any time
3) No fireworks permitted
4) No handguns/firearms permitted
5) We provide trash bins for your convenience. When they become full, place them in front of
your tent for collection. Please dispose of your trash properly. Let’s keep the are clean for
everyone.
6) Only one towing pass will be issued per entry
7) Anyone Driving support / Towing vehicles must have a valid license & MDRA Platinum
Member. If a minor is caught for any reason driving a support / towing vehicle, the vehicle
will be confiscated, and team can be asked to leave.
8) Kids not allowed inside the towing vehicle
9) Only MDRA Members are authorized in towing vehicles
10) Please dump your Fluid / Oils only in the OIL Tanks.
11) Each & Every Pit must have 10kg fire extinguisher

Pairing Lanes & Drag Strip

1) No cigarettes
2) No alcohol
3) Only MDRA Members with a Valid Membership are permitted
4) Sandales, Flip-Flops, High Heels not Permitted, the entire foot should be fully covered
5) No kids are permitted (except Junior Dragster drivers, and only during their own race).
6) Only one person is allowed to assist the vehicle (car or motorcycle) when moving to the Pre-Stage area.
7) The remaining crew members must stay behind the vehicle, not next to it.
8) Any crew member who does not comply with these rules will result in immediate disqualification..
9) Only Media & MDRA Authorize personals are allowed in the restricted areas.

Pit & Pairing Lanes Rules

General Car Safety & Equipment Rules

Driver Requirements

  • Preparedness: All drivers must be fully suited and prepared when entering the pairing lanes.
  • Safety Gear: Full-face helmet, fire-retardant racing shoes, gloves, and neck support are mandatory.

Vehicle Presentation & Qualifying

  • Pit Presence: Cars must be present in the pits on Qualifying days to participate in eliminations and finals.

Burnout Regulations

  • Burnouts Allowed: Burnouts can be performed twice in the burnout box.
  • Rolling Burnout: Rolling burnouts are allowed twice; however, crossing the starting line is permitted only once.
  • Assistance Post-Burnout: If a car shuts off post burnout, only the driver is allowed to start the car, Outboard starter bikes are only allowed 1 restart as per Fim rules

Racing Conduct

  • Track & Wall Contact: Contact with the racing line or hitting the walls results in disqualification, with an observation run for review.
  • Race Authority: The Race Director or Committee reserves the right to send the car / Crew back to the pits if deemed necessary.

Tire & Parachute Requirements

  • Tires: Only slick tires or drag radials are permitted.
  • Parachute: A single parachute is required for cars 150 mph and Quicker; two parachutes are required for 199 mph and Quicker.
  • Parachute pin: The parachute pin must be removed before the burnout.

Roll Cage & Safety Features

  • Roll Cage: For vehicles with an elapsed time (ET) of 10.9 seconds or quicker, as well as those cars with lightened body panels or any chassis, body, interior, or exterior modifications, the Malta Drag Racing Association (MDRA) mandates the installation of a roll cage.
  • Cars quicker than 7.5 ET must have a weld-in funny cage.
  • Safety Catch Net: For all cars equipped with a roll cage, a driver’s side window catch net is required for safety

Additional Safety Equipment

  • Harness: A minimum 5-point harness is compulsory.
  • Main Shutoff Switch: All vehicles, including diesel engines, must have a clearly marked main shutoff switch.
  • Doors: Two operating doors are required on all vehicles, excluding dragsters.
  • Arm Restraints: Mandatory for all open-top and windowless cars, including junior dragsters.
    • Battery: Wet batteries must be installed outside the driver’s compartment and secured with metal straps.
    • Dry batteries may be located in the driver’s compartment if securely installed.
    • Driver compartment: of any enclosed or full-bodied car must be totally sealed from engine. All holes in firewall must be sealed with aluminium or steel. Openings around all linkages, lines, wires, hoses, etc. must be minimized. Minimum

Engine & Fuel Safety

  • Exhaust Cross: Cars with turbo and exhaust systems of 70mm or larger must have a 10mm cross
  • Fluid Tray: An engine tray to catch leaks is required.
  • Fuel Isolation: The fuel system, including fuel lines, must be isolated from the driver’s compartment.

Fire Extinguisher & Breather Tank

  • Fire Extinguisher: A minimum 2 kg fire extinguisher, accessible to the driver, is required.

Breather Tank: A minimum 1-liter breather tank for oil and water is mandatory

The Malta Drag Racing Association has the right to disqualify the team from the event if one
of your team members does not obey all the above rules
